Enrique Tarrio, who recently received clemency from President Donald Trump, marked his release from prison by appearing on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show, where he advocated for retribution against those who convicted him of seditious conspiracy linked to the January 6 Capitol riot. Until now, he was serving a lengthy 22-year prison sentence, the most severe among the nearly 1,600 individuals charged due to the insurrection stemming from Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
In a move that surprised many, Trump announced sweeping pardons for many individuals involved in the January 6 events, including Tarrio and other Proud Boys members. He also commuted the sentences of individuals like Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, who was facing 18 years in prison for a similar charge. Trump characterized these individuals as “hostages” who had faced undue consequences, asserting that their treatment was a significant injustice in the history of the nation.
While speaking to Jones, who had a role in orchestrating the January 6 rally, Tarrio lauded Trump’s actions and displayed a complete lack of remorse for his involvement in the riots, despite having previously expressed regret. He specifically thanked Trump for helping him and other members of the Proud Boys, stating that their struggles were worthwhile, reflecting their shared beliefs. Additionally, he echoed Trump's sentiment that the legal system had been misused against them, expressing a desire for accountability for those who convicted him.
Despite having expressed earlier that he did not consider himself a political zealot, Tarrio insisted on repercussions for those involved in his conviction. He showcased a shift in sentiment, suggesting that those who took part in the investigation should face imprisonment, reiterating his belief that justice needed to be served. This call echoed sentiments shared by Jones, who emphasized the importance of addressing what he termed as the “deep state” and holding various figures accountable to maintain support for their agenda.

Trump's pardons are a slap in the face to everyone who believes in justice. Seditious conspiracy should not be taken lightly!

Enrique Tarrio’s appearance on Alex Jones' show is appalling. He should accept his punishment instead of calling for retribution!

It's absurd to claim 'they're hosts' when they actively participated in an attack on democracy. They deserve accountability!

These pardons send a dangerous message that violent acts against democracy will be tolerated. This is not what America stands for!

Advocating for retribution against the legal system is dangerous rhetoric that could incite more violence.

This just shows that some people will fight for their beliefs no matter the cost. More power to Tarrio and his supporters!

This isn’t justice; it’s a mockery. Trump and his cronies are undermining the rule of law for personal gains.
