In the course of their investigation, social media has revealed images of armed officers conducting searches in a flat as they pursue a male suspect, who is likely acquainted with the victim. The area remains cordoned off while police searches are underway, resulting in road closures throughout the coastal city, including sealing one of the staircases leading to Cliff Road.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Pebworth has issued a statement indicating that cordons are expected to remain throughout the day, with police units maintaining a presence in the vicinity.
