On Thursday, a spokesperson from China's Foreign Ministry reiterated that Taiwan is an integral part of China, and there are no legitimate titles such as "president" or "foreign ministry" for the Taiwan region. This statement came in response to inquiries about Lin Chia-lung, who attended the President of Palau's inauguration as an alleged "presidential envoy."
The spokesperson declared that there is only one China recognized globally, asserting that the one-China principle serves as a key tenet of international relations and is widely acknowledged by the international community. They criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for its attempts to pursue independence and gain foreign support, labeling these efforts as ultimately destined for failure.
Additionally, the spokesperson noted that while the DPP is engaged in cementing alliances, friendly nations including Tuvalu, Palau, and the Marshall Islands have conveyed their interest in either establishing or restoring diplomatic ties with China. They claimed that this trend reflects the people’s desires and underscored China's willingness to develop relations with these nations in line with the one-China principle.

Claiming Taiwan's president and foreign ministry are illegitimate is absurd. China's bullying tactics won't silence the truth. Taiwan deserves international recognition! 🌎

The DPP is right to stand up for Taiwan's independence. China's one-China policy is a lie. Taiwan will never surrender its freedom! 🇹🇼💪
