PLA Southern Theater Command Conducts Combat Exercise in the South China Sea

In winter 2024, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command carried out an extensive combat exercise in an undisclosed location within the South China Sea. This operation involved a fleet of amphibious landing ships, helicopters, hovercraft, and combat vehicles, showcasing the PLA's ongoing development of its naval capabilities as it focuses on far seas operations.
