On Inauguration Day, left-wing groups planned to protest Donald Trump's second presidency with thousands of demonstrators in Washington, D.C. However, the anticipated large crowds did not materialize.
Organizers of the protests, including the Act Now to Stop War and End Racism Coalition and the People's Forum, had expected around 10,000 people to participate in rallies across the city. However, the Daily Caller News Foundation observed a significantly smaller turnout, with only dozens of protesters present at Malcolm X Park.
Despite the small crowd, protesters voiced their opposition to Trump's conservative agenda and made radical demands, such as the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and the abolition of police, prisons, and cages.
One protester, Hugh Casey, expressed his opposition to Trump's support for Israel while wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh and a Make America Great Again hat. He stated that Republicans can support the Palestinian people without always siding with Israel.
Another group of protesters, identifying as revolutionary communists, held a separate demonstration at Lafayette Square in front of the White House. They displayed signs depicting Trump in a Ku Klux Klan hood and called him a "bag of feces."
The protests on Inauguration Day were significantly smaller and less disruptive than those that occurred during Trump's first inauguration in 2017. No arrests of protesters were reported on Monday.

The protests may be small, but it shows that there are people willing to stand up for their beliefs.

How can you call it a protest when there’s barely anyone there? This is just embarrassing!

So many radical demands, yet only a handful of people. Sounds like nobody really cares.

Radical demands only alienate potential allies. No wonder turnout was low!

Wearing a keffiyeh and a MAGA hat? That's just ridiculous and hypocritical!

That protest was a joke. Better luck next time, if you can even find people who care.

Even if they were few in number, their points still resonate with many out there!

These protests are just sad at this point. They make fool of themselves with their extreme demands.
