Arsenal Boosted by Returning Players Ahead of Champions League Clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has received a welcome boost with the return of injured defender Riccardo Calafiori and midfielder Ethan Nwaneri ahead of their crucial Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.
The Gunners, currently sitting in third place, have enjoyed a successful European campaign so far, winning four out of six matches. However, their domestic form has been less impressive, with only one victory in their last five games across all competitions.
The absence of key players like Bukayo Saka and William Saliba has undoubtedly contributed to Arsenal's recent struggles. Saka has been sidelined for over two months due to hamstring surgery, while Saliba sustained a similar injury during their win over Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Fortunately, both Calafiori and Nwaneri are now available for selection after recovering from their respective muscle injuries. Calafiori missed Arsenal's last three matches, while Nwaneri was forced off at halftime in their 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in January.
Arteta expressed his delight at the return of the two players, stating that they will be crucial for the upcoming Champions League encounter. He also provided an update on Saliba's condition, confirming that the defender is feeling better but will not be fit for Wednesday's game.
The manager also acknowledged the talent within the Dinamo Zagreb squad, despite their current position at the bottom of the Champions League table. He emphasized the importance of capitalizing on their home advantage and securing a strong performance against a formidable opponent.
With the demanding schedule of the past few months behind them, Arteta believes his team is well-rested and prepared to face the challenges ahead. He expressed confidence in their ability to continue their impressive Champions League run and secure a place in the last-16.

Confidence is one thing, but skill and execution matter more. Arsenal needs to prove it.

We’ve had enough excuses. It’s time for results, not just talk about returning players.

Injuries are bad, but bouncing back is what teams are made of. Go, Gunners!

Returning players won't fix our domestic form. We need consistency, not just bodies back.
