In Utah, a tragic incident led to the death of a teenage girl after two men, Michael Edward Hess-Witacki and Ethan Andrew Galloway, were arrested for their involvement in the shooting. They reportedly followed the girl, who was driving a red truck, believing she and her passenger were "stalking" them.
According to officials from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, the confrontation happened late Friday night when the suspects, traveling in a black pickup truck, pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and began firing shots. This gunfire caused the teenager to lose control, resulting in a crash through a fence, where she sustained multiple gunshot wounds and ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The passenger was injured in the crash but managed to call 911, leading authorities to the suspects.
The investigation revealed that the suspects had previously spotted the red truck in their neighborhood, leading them to chase after it. They were quickly located by law enforcement at a residential complex after deputies identified a matching black Chevrolet Silverado truck. Hess-Witacki confessed to driving the vehicle during the incident while Galloway admitted to firing 12 shots at the truck.
Additional arrests were made, including Aldric Felipe and Matthew D. Sorber-Petrie, with Galloway and Hess-Witacki facing multiple serious charges such as murder and felony firearm discharge. During the search of the suspects' residence, authorities discovered firearms, ammunition, and various controlled substances, including drug paraphernalia. All four suspects are currently being held without bail as the investigation continues.

It’s terrifying that two men thought it was okay to shoot at someone for what they perceived as “stalking.” This is outrageous!

It’s vital to have open dialogues about violence and address the root causes. We must prevent such tragedies from occurring again.

How can anyone think that shooting at a vehicle is justified? There is no excuse for this kind of behavior!
