Coalition of Immigration Groups Urges Republicans to Follow Through on Deportation Promises
A coalition of hawkish immigration groups is urging Republicans in Congress and officials in the incoming Trump administration to follow through on their promises to launch a mass deportation operation.
The coalition, which includes Heritage Action for America, NumbersUSA, and the National Immigration Center for Enforcement, sent a letter to Republicans outlining their concerns and recommendations. They argue that work on deportations needs to begin immediately, and that mass deportations and secure borders are not only essential for public safety and national security, but also critical for protecting American workers and stopping employers from engaging in unscrupulous activities.
The groups note that the 2023 House-passed GOP border bill included a number of sweeping measures to secure the border and limit the ability of migrants to claim asylum. However, they argue that the bill should be a "floor, not a ceiling," and urge the incoming administration and Congress to go further, first with a funding package via the budget reconciliation process.
Their recommendations for the reconciliation package include additional resources to make "millions of deportations" happen, end loopholes in immigration law, cut funding to nonprofits, and "prioritize the American worker over foreign labor." They also warn lawmakers against any form of amnesty.
The coalition concludes by stating that it is time to bring order to the immigration system and restore fidelity to the rule of law. They urge Congress to act immediately to deliver the resources necessary for President Trump to carry out the mass deportations needed to reverse the damage done by the Biden Administration.

How do these groups expect to carry out millions of deportations logistically? This is an unrealistic and reckless proposal.
Answer
Cutting funding for nonprofits that help immigrants will lead to more suffering. We need to support community organizations!

The so-called 'rule of law' should include compassion. We cannot disregard humanitarian principles for strict enforcement.
Answer
Instead of pushing fear, we should be celebrating diversity and promoting understanding among cultures.

Efforts to prioritize American workers should not come at the expense of human rights. We need a balanced approach.

This call for mass deportations is a clear sign of xenophobia. Let's work towards unity instead of division.

This is a dangerous precedent. How can we justify breaking up families and destroying lives for political gain?
