His invention, Nest Box Live, features advanced cameras and AI technology capable of identifying various bird species that occupy the boxes. It sends out instant notifications when birds arrive or leave, and enables users to share live video feeds on social media platforms, connecting viewers worldwide.

Each spring, Jamie collects the best videos from the box and uploads them online, documenting the daily activities of birds. A notable example is a series capturing bluebirds in Virginia, which has amassed an impressive 128 million views. Additionally, he has created specialized camera setups for raptors, including one for a kestrel family in Blackpool, which attracted 105 million views on Facebook.

The inspiration for his project came from his own passion for birdwatching, which he considered a way to alleviate stress during his teaching career in Liverpool. With a background in technology, he initially designed a rudimentary camera system to livestream his observations on Facebook while at work. The concept quickly gained traction, leading to a surge of followers on his page after a pair of blue tits nested in one of his boxes.

Today, Jamie produces these sophisticated bird boxes in his workshop, selling each unit for approximately £240. He believes that the events following the Covid pandemic have heightened people's interest in nature and their surroundings, revealing a desire to learn more about the lifecycle of birds. He emphasizes that his technology allows for a deeper understanding of the intricate processes involved in nesting and chick rearing.
