Aaron Korsh, a writer for the popular TV series "Suits," recently opened up about the challenges he faced regarding communication from the Palace when Meghan Markle was part of the cast, especially following her relationship with Prince Harry. In an interview in August 2023 with The Hollywood Reporter, Korsh revealed that the royal family occasionally had input on the show's content, which he found somewhat frustrating. Notably, the Palace requested that Meghan avoid using the word "poppycock," fearing that it could lead to online ridicule. As a result, writers opted to change the dialogue to "bullst" instead.
Additionally, it was reported by the Daily Mail that the Palace imposed rules around Meghan's public appearances, including a ban on photographs of her in her wedding dress unless she was filming. Prince Harry spoke about the challenges Meghan faced while working on "Suits" in his memoir, "Spare," highlighting the ongoing frustration of the show's writers as they received guidance from the Palace on her character's dialogue and actions. After Meghan's relationship with Harry blossomed, which began during a trip to London in the summer of 2016, Korsh began planning for her exit from the show, ultimately concluding with her character leaving in the seventh season finale titled "Good-Bye," where she sets up her own law firm in Seattle.
In Meghan's engagement interview in November 2017, she expressed pride in her time on "Suits," noting her seven-year experience with the show and the satisfaction she felt from her work. At Meghan and Harry's wedding in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel, many of her co-stars, including Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty, were present among the 600 guests invited to the celebratory event.
