Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng Calls for Safe and Convenient Spring Festival Travel
Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng has urged all relevant regions, departments, and enterprises to ensure safe and convenient travel during the upcoming Spring Festival. He made these remarks during an inspection of transport hubs in Beijing, including the Beijing Daxing International Airport and the Beijing West Railway Station.
He, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the importance of diligently identifying and addressing potential safety risks while preparing for the possibility of extreme weather conditions. He also called for efforts to make full use of transport capacity and enhance travel services such as ticketing and transfers.
This inspection comes as millions of Chinese people prepare to travel for the Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, which is the most important holiday in the Chinese calendar. The festival is a time for family reunions and celebrations, and it is expected that a large number of people will be traveling during this period.
The Chinese government is taking steps to ensure that the Spring Festival travel season is safe and smooth. In addition to the measures outlined by He Lifeng, the government has also increased the number of trains and flights available during the holiday period. The government is also working to improve the infrastructure of transportation hubs and to provide better travel services.
