In Hyderabad, a ticket manager working for a travel agency was shot during an alarming incident on January 16. According to East Zone DCP B Bala Swamy, the assailants fled the crime scene after firing at the manager while reportedly carrying two bags.
The incident occurred around 7:15 PM in the jurisdiction of the Afzalgung Police Station. Bala Swamy explained that the suspects had approached the travel office earlier to book tickets from Hyderabad to Raipur. However, while the ticket manager conversed with them before they boarded the bus, he sensed something was amiss, leading to the shooting. One individual was injured in the attack and is now receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, with his condition deemed stable. Law enforcement has filed an FIR against the perpetrators and is actively pursuing them.
Mossam, the brother of the travel company’s owner, provided additional context to the event. He revealed that two individuals had initially arrived to book tickets at around 3 PM and were waiting for their 7 PM bus. During their wait, security checks were conducted, which included inspecting the suspicious bags. Police officers from Bidar were present at the bus when the miscreants attempted to bribe them. When these offers were declined, the suspects revealed a firearm from their bags and shot the ticket manager.

This incident raises many questions. Why were the suspects carrying suspiciously large bags? Why did they attempt to bribe the officers?
