China Restricts US Entities for Arms Sales to Taiwan

China Imposes Export Controls on 28 US Entities, Adds 10 to Unreliable Entities List

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Thursday the inclusion of 28 US entities to the export control list, effectively barring exports of dual-use items to these companies. This move aims to safeguard China's national security and interests, fulfill non-proliferation obligations, and promote trade in line with regulations.

The listed entities include major defense contractors such as General Dynamics, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Following this decision, exports of dual-use items to these companies are prohibited, and any ongoing export activities must be immediately halted. Exporters may apply for permission from MOFCOM in special circumstances where exports are deemed necessary.

Separately, MOFCOM also added 10 US entities to the unreliable entities list for their involvement in arms sales to Taiwan. These companies are prohibited from engaging in China-related import or export activities, making new investments in China, and their senior executives are barred from entering China. This action is intended to safeguard China's national sovereignty, security, and development interests.

The Chinese government remains committed to promoting high-level opening-up, protecting the legitimate rights of businesses, and fostering compliant trade. However, it will take necessary measures to safeguard its national interests and fulfill international obligations.

Experts believe these actions are in line with Chinese laws and regulations, international trade rules, and target only trade activities that violate Chinese laws and harm national interests. They emphasize that China's actions differ from the US' arbitrary sanctions targeting normal economic and trade activities.

These moves come amidst ongoing tensions between China and the US over Taiwan. The Chinese government has repeatedly condemned US interference in its internal affairs related to Taiwan and stressed that the Taiwan question is at the core of China's core interests.

The addition of American companies to the 'unreliable entities' list is a necessary step to punish them for their involvement in illegal arms sales to Taiwan.

China's actions are completely justified under international law and are a necessary step to protect its national interests. The US should not be surprised by this response.

The US needs to stop interfering in China's internal affairs and respect its sovereignty. Taiwan is a part of China, and the US has no right to sell arms to the island.

China's actions are a clear violation of international trade rules and will only hurt global economic cooperation. It's ironic that they accuse the US of engaging in similar tactics while they themselves are doing the exact same thing.

This is a worrying development that could lead to a trade war between the US and China. Both countries would suffer from such a conflict, and it would be difficult to predict the long-term consequences.

The US needs to stop its hypocritical behavior and recognize that China has the right to defend its interests just as the US does.

China's actions are a sign of its commitment to globalization and free trade. The country is not trying to isolate itself from the world.
