Catherine, Princess of Wales, expressed her relief at being in remission after visiting the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. She underwent preventative chemotherapy following major abdominal surgery a year ago that revealed an unspecified form of cancer.
In September, she confirmed the completion of her chemotherapy treatment. "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery," she stated. "As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."
This visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital marked her first solo public engagement since returning to official duties. She met patients and staff, expressing her gratitude for the care she received. The visit also coincided with the announcement of her becoming joint patron of the specialist cancer unit alongside her husband, Prince William.
Catherine acknowledged the significant impact the illness had on her family, describing it as "really, really tough." She expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Royal Marsden for their exceptional care and to those who supported her and William throughout their journey.
In previous video messages, Catherine had spoken openly about the challenges her illness presented for her, William, and their three young children. King Charles also underwent cancer treatment last year, which a Buckingham Palace source reported as progressing positively and continuing this year.

Her illness is private. Why publicize it and garner sympathy?

Glad she's doing better, but preferential treatment for royalty is sickening.
