Israel and Hamas Presented with Final Draft Agreement to End Gaza Conflict

Mediators presented Israel and Hamas with a final draft agreement on Monday, aiming to end the conflict in Gaza. This development followed a breakthrough in negotiations that took place at midnight, involving representatives from both the outgoing administration of President Joe Biden and the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.

President Biden expressed optimism about the imminent cease-fire and hostage release agreement, stating that it was on the verge of being finalized. Hamas also indicated its eagerness to reach a resolution.

In a speech highlighting his foreign policy accomplishments, President Biden outlined the key elements of the proposed deal. It would secure the release of hostages, bring an end to the hostilities, provide security guarantees for Israel, and enable a substantial increase in humanitarian assistance for Palestinians who have endured immense suffering during the Hamas-initiated war.
