Irregularities in BPSC Exam Spark Protests and Calls for Action
Independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, has raised concerns about irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam held on December 13, 2024. He has called for an investigation into the matter and has threatened to disrupt the House proceedings from March 21st onwards if his demands are not met.
Yadav, along with Azad Party founder Chandrashekhar Azad and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, are collaborating on the issue and plan to visit different cities in support of the affected students and aspirants.
Yadav has highlighted several irregularities in the exam, including the cancellation of exams by the court, the lack of investigation into the property of those involved, the continued cases against students, and the lack of investigation into the lathicharge. He also pointed out that question papers were brought from Nawada to Gaya a day before the exam, no jammer was installed, and only 172 bundles out of 192 arrived.
The Supreme Court has refused to entertain a plea alleging widespread malpractices during the exam, advising the petitioner to approach the Patna High Court. However, Yadav and his allies remain determined to pursue the matter and ensure justice for the affected students.
Earlier, Yadav had praised the Bihar Governor for listening to their concerns and assuring them of a high-level probe into the incident. However, the lack of concrete action has led to renewed protests and calls for immediate action.
