Edgar Maddison Welch, who became infamous for firing a weapon in a Washington restaurant due to the unfounded conspiracy theory known as “Pizzagate,” was killed during a traffic stop in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The incident occurred over the weekend when officers recognized Welch as a passenger in an SUV and were aware of his outstanding felony probation violation warrant.
When the police approached the vehicle to make an arrest, Welch allegedly brandished a handgun at one of the officers. Despite being ordered to drop the weapon, he did not comply, resulting in two officers discharging their firearms at him. Welch was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries two days later, while none of the officers or other passengers were harmed in the encounter.
there were no abducted children.
Welch faced legal consequences for his actions in 2017 when he pleaded guilty to charges related to the incident and received a four-year prison sentence from then-Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson, who now serves on the Supreme Court. The recent shooting incident involving Welch is currently under investigation by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, while the officers involved are on administrative leave as per standard protocol.

What a waste of taxpayer money. All those resources spent on a conspiracy theorist.

He was a menace who threatened innocent people. This is a tragedy, but it could have been much worse.

Glad the officers are safe. They did what they had to do to protect themselves.

I'm with the officers on this one. They did what they had to do to stay alive.

This is not about Pizzagate. It's about someone brandishing a weapon at police officers.

He made his bed, now he has to lie in it. Let this be a warning to anyone else thinking of trying something like this.

Don't forget he fired a gun first! He put the officers' lives in danger.

Finally, some justice for the victims of Pizzagate. I hope this shuts down all the conspiracy theories.

He chose to live by the gun, and he died by the gun. May this be a lesson to everyone.
