Within hours, a representative of the FBI misinformed the public, claiming it wasn't terrorism despite the presence of an ISIS flag on the vehicle. This incident highlights the FBI's decline in recent years, marked by investigations driven by politics rather than facts, and promotions based on factors other than merit.

The FBI's handling of the New Orleans attack was a disaster. The assistant special agent in charge (ASAC) lacked the knowledge and skills to handle the situation, making inaccurate statements and causing unnecessary panic. This incident reflects the FBI's broader issues, including the "woke" leadership and the "Didn't Earn It" promotion system, which have compromised the bureau's effectiveness.

The FBI's current focus on "White supremacy" as the greatest terror threat and its leniency towards rioters further erode public trust. The raid on a former president's residence is seen by many as an abuse of power.

To regain public trust, the FBI needs to return to its core values of merit, objectivity, and excellence. This requires leadership that rewards strong performance and promotes based on merit. The FBI must also reinstitute rigorous performance reviews and field office inspections to identify and address issues.

The work of the FBI is critical to national security. However, the New Orleans attack serves as a stark reminder of the FBI's decline. Only by returning to its core values and focusing on real threats can the FBI regain public trust and effectively protect the nation.
