In Singapore, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) conducted a significant operation that led to the arrest of four individuals, primarily Singaporeans, and the seizure of drugs valued at over S$1 million. The operation, which took place on January 6, involved a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old man who were apprehended at a carpark located in the Cassia Crescent area.
During the arrest, authorities discovered a large quantity of drugs on the 27-year-old, including approximately 1,855 grams of heroin, 1,032 grams of Ice, 98 ecstasy tablets, and 300 Erimin-5 tablets. The 25-year-old was also found with 136 grams of Ice and 21 grams of cannabis. A subsequent search of a vehicle in proximity to their arrest revealed around 11.78 kilograms of cannabis.
Another suspect, a 25-year-old man who attempted to flee upon seeing the first two arrests, was caught after a brief chase, during which an offensive weapon was found in his possession. Following this, CNB officers conducted a raid at the home of the 27-year-old, recovering additional drugs, including 73 grams of Ice, 21 grams of heroin, and a small quantity of ecstasy tablets. Furthermore, a 25-year-old woman believed to be a drug user was also taken into custody at the location.
The CNB indicated that the illegal substances confiscated in this operation could potentially sustain the drug dependence of about 4,590 users for one week. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover more information about the drug-related activities of those arrested.

Why are we treating drug users like criminals? They need help, not jail time.

Another overreaction by the authorities. We need to address the underlying issues, not just arrest people.

This seems excessive. A simple possession shouldn't lead to such a harsh crackdown.

These arrests send a strong message that Singapore will not tolerate drug trafficking.
