Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the chief of the Indian Air Force, underscored the importance of increased vigilance and preparedness during his visit to the Lakshadweep Islands on January 4-5. This visit was part of his commitment to addressing evolving geopolitical challenges. During the two-day trip, he engaged with air force personnel based at Minicoy and Kavaratti Islands, and toured multiple military installations, interacting with troops from the IAF, Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard.
The Chief of Air Staff stressed the need for the IAF to remain ahead of shifting geopolitical dynamics and highlighted its significant role in managing emerging challenges. He called for maintaining a high level of operational readiness, praising the professionalism of the troops deployed in forward positions, and urged them to remain vigilant in protecting the nation's security interests.
In a related context, last month, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh participated in the Central Air Command Commanders' Conference, where he emphasized operational preparedness as a key component in strengthening the IAF's capabilities. He advised commanders to foster a secure flying environment and integrate advanced technologies, specifically in space, cyber, and electronic warfare areas.
Additionally, on the same day, the French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle docked at Goa's Mormugao port, receiving a ceremonial welcome from the Indian Navy. The carrier is scheduled to participate in joint exercises with Indian Air Force fighter jets, while its accompanying ships will engage in the 42nd edition of the Varuna exercise during their return from operations in the Pacific.
