Rishi Dhawan Announces Retirement from Indian Limited-Overs Cricket
Rishi Dhawan, the Himachal Pradesh all-rounder, has announced his retirement from Indian limited-overs cricket. The 34-year-old made the announcement on his social media, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he received from the BCCI, HPCA, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Dhawan represented India in three ODIs and one T20I, scoring 12 runs and taking one wicket in the ODIs, and scoring one run and taking one wicket in the T20I. He has enjoyed a successful domestic career, amassing 2906 runs and 186 wickets in 134 List A games, and 1740 runs and 118 wickets in 135 T20s. He was instrumental in helping Himachal Pradesh win their first Vijay Hazare Trophy title in 2021-22.
Dhawan will continue to play first-class cricket for Himachal Pradesh in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. He has been in impressive form, scoring 397 runs at an average of 79.40 and taking 11 wickets at an average of 28.45 in the five matches he has played so far. He is the second-highest run-getter for his side in the tournament.
Dhawan's retirement marks the end of a successful limited-overs career for the all-rounder. He will be remembered for his contributions to Indian cricket and his dedication to the sport.
