German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Responds to Elon Musk's Insults and Political Interference
"Don't feed the troll."
He described Musk's criticisms as nothing new, stating that Social Democrats have long been accustomed to wealthy media entrepreneurs who oppose their political views. He emphasized his intention to avoid engaging with Musk, who has endorsed the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party in the upcoming federal elections.
Scholz's response marks his most direct response to Musk's attacks, which have intensified since Musk acquired the social media platform X. Musk has used X's global reach to promote his own political views, backing far-right and anti-establishment parties across Europe while attacking prominent center-left leaders.
Scholz expressed particular concern over Musk's support for the AfD, which he described as "in parts rightwing extremist" and a party that seeks closer ties with Putin's Russia and aims to weaken transatlantic relations. He contrasted this with Germany's strong and stable democracy, where the will of the citizens prevails.
Scholz's response highlights the growing concern over the influence of wealthy individuals like Musk in European politics. His call to "not feed the troll" serves as a reminder to focus on addressing real issues and challenges rather than engaging in personal attacks and divisive rhetoric.

He’s right! Musk is an entitled billionaire trying to control our politics. We need to ignore him. 😡

Scholz is afraid! He knows the truth about the AfD and doesn’t want it exposed. 😠

The X platform is a private company! Scholz shouldn’t try to control what they do. 🙄
