On January 4, during a demonstration against impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol near his official residence in Seoul, police faced difficulties in leaving the protest site. Investigators have since requested that the acting president take action to ensure the presidential security service adheres to an arrest warrant issued for Yoon due to his controversial martial law declaration last month.
On Friday, the security service and military personnel intervened during a standoff lasting six hours, preventing prosecutors from executing the arrest warrant. The Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials, which is overseeing the investigation, has reiterated its appeal to acting President Choi Sang-mok, also the finance minister, to instruct the security service to cooperate.
Additionally, police have summoned Park Chong-jun, the head of the presidential security service, for questioning on Tuesday. The martial law declaration made by Yoon on December 3 shocked the nation and marked the unprecedented issuance of an arrest warrant for a sitting president in South Korea.

Disgraceful! How can the President of South Korea declare martial law and then try to evade arrest? This is a blatant abuse of power and shows utter disregard for the rule of law.

I'm disappointed by the actions of President Yoon Suk-yeol and the presidential security service. This is not the kind of leadership we need in South Korea.

Yoon Suk-yeol should resign immediately! Leading a country in this way is irresponsible and sets a dangerous precedent.

This is a test for South Korea's democracy. We need to see if our institutions are strong enough to withstand these challenges.

This is just another example of the corruption that is plaguing South Korea. We need to clean up our government and hold those in power accountable.
