Customers traveling to, through, or from 45 affected cities between January 4th and 6th can change their flights without incurring the usual change fee. Tickets must have been purchased before January 1st, and new flights must be between January 2nd and 9th. Passengers cannot change their origin or destination cities or upgrade their cabin.

Tickets must have been purchased on or before January 2nd. New flights must depart between January 3rd and 13th between the same cities and in the same cabin originally booked. Additionally, for Central U.S. passengers with tickets on flights scheduled between January 4th and 6th across 10 airports, United is waiving change fees and fare differences for rebooked flights. Tickets must have been purchased before January 1st.
