Shohei Ohtani, the exceptional two-way player, has recently started practicing swings after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder in early November. According to Brandon Gomes, the General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ohtani's recovery is progressing well as he prepares for the upcoming season.
Ohtani, who was named the unanimous 2024 National League MVP, experienced a shoulder dislocation during the second game of the World Series against the New York Yankees in late October. Following a previous right elbow surgery in September 2023 that prevented him from pitching last year, he is now focused on returning to his two-way playing role when the Dodgers kick off the 2025 season in March against the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo.
Though Ohtani has not yet made contact with a ball, Gomes expressed confidence in the progress Ohtani is making in his recovery efforts as he gears up for spring training.
