The Chinese Consulate General in Aktobe confirmed on Wednesday that there were no Chinese citizens on the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane that crashed close to Aktau, Kazakhstan, as reported by Xinhua News Agency. Additionally, the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan verified with the Global Times that there were no Chinese individuals among the passengers.
A passenger plane, which was operating a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed in the vicinity of Aktau, leading to the hospitalization of 27 individuals, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan. Among the injured, there are reportedly three children. Initial reports indicated that the aircraft, with 72 passengers, suffered an accident that may have led to some survivors.
Emergency responders arrived promptly at the crash site, employing 11 pieces of equipment and 52 rescuers from the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered the plane engulfed in flames and worked to extinguish the fire while assessing the situation regarding potential survivors and injuries. The aircraft involved was an Embraer 190 model, which had made an emergency landing roughly three kilometers from Aktau.
