Jonathan Mogbo, the rookie forward for the Toronto Raptors, has been assigned to the team's G-League affiliate, Raptors 905. This move comes as the 905 prepare to host the Austin Spurs on Friday at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
Mogbo has averaged 5.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 16.6 minutes per game over 34 NBA appearances, including six starts. However, his playing time has decreased significantly since the return of backup center Kelly Olynyk, who missed the start of the season due to back spasms. In the Raptors' recent 130-113 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, Mogbo only saw 41 seconds of action during garbage time. The Raptors did not hold practice on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Mogbo was selected by the Raptors with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

He needs to find his rhythm, and this assignment will help him do just that! Go, Mogbo!

Being in the G-League could really help him grow into the player the Raptors need him to be.

Great decision! He’ll get to work on his game in a more competitive environment.

I see the bigger picture here—this is all about his long-term success.

It's important for rookies to play—we’ll see him back stronger with more minutes under his belt.

This is such a waste of talent! Why isn't he getting more minutes in the NBA?

I thought the Raptors were building for the future, not stashing talent in the G-League.

Hard to see him not playing, but this could be the best thing for his development right now.
