President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to 20 people, including Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson, leaders of the congressional investigation into the Capitol riot.
Cheney and Thompson were recognized for their work on the committee, which concluded that Trump criminally engaged in a "multi-part conspiracy" to overturn the 2020 election.
Other honorees included Frank Butler, Diane Carlson Evans, Eleanor Smeal, Bobby Sager, Thomas Vallely, Paula Wallace, Frances Visco, former Sen. Bill Bradley, former Sen. Nancy Kassebaum, and former Rep. Carolyn McCarthy.
Joseph Galloway, Louis Lorenzo Redding, Collins Seitz, and Mitsuye Endo Tsutsumi.
The Presidential Citizens Medal was created by President Richard Nixon in 1969 and is the country's second highest civilian honor. It recognizes people who "performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.

This is an insult to all Americans who voted for Trump. These people are clearly biased and should not be rewarded.

This is a slap in the face to all the people who died on January 6th. Their blood is on Cheney and Thompson's hands.
