Tan Jing, the principal of the Community Parent School in Xindu sub-district of Chengdu, is pleased with the financial contributions and efforts to improve people's well-being in the area. Her school recently received 12,000 yuan ($1,690) for new classroom electronics.
The Community Parent School focuses on comprehensive parent training, equipping parents with the knowledge, methods, and behaviors to raise children with good character and habits. Established in 2012, the Xindu Street Community Education School was recognized as a "Chengdu Municipal Quality Community Education School" in 2017.
In March 2023, the school partnered with Chengdu Zhang Shiming's Master Studio to launch the "Master's Teaching — Empowering Parent Growth" event at Machao Community teaching post. This public-welfare project aimed to help parents of children aged 3 to 18.
With the implementation of related laws, home-school co-education has gained increasing attention. Zhang Shiming, a master teacher, believes that guiding a group of parents to establish correct educational concepts can influence and motivate other parents.
For the first time, the community parent school has a fixed classroom, students, activity locations, and course arrangements. Courses are held on the third Saturday of each month, approximately 10 times a year. The school's first session was conducted both online and offline, attracting over 50 parents in person and thousands of viewers online.

Community programs like this make such a difference. Well done to everyone involved!

I'm skeptical about the effectiveness of this once-a-month class. What about daily support for parents?

The program shows a commitment to enhancing community values. Great to see this in action!

Is this really necessary? Parenting isn't something you can teach in a classroom setting.

Where’s the accountability? I hope they’re not just pocketing that money with no real oversight.

Too much focus on organized programs instead of supporting real families. Please start valuing personal relationships.

More money spent on classrooms won’t solve parenting issues. It’s about family values, not facilities.
