A Space Force Academy to Counter China's Threat in Space

A Necessity for National Security

On December 20, 2019, then-President Donald Trump made history by establishing the Space Force, the sixth branch of the U.S. military and the first new branch since 1947. During the signing ceremony, President Trump emphasized the importance of American superiority in space, stating, "There are grave threats to our national security. American superiority in space is absolutely vital. The Space Force will help us deter aggression and control the ultimate high ground."

However, despite the creation of the Space Force, the United States still faces significant challenges in securing its dominance in space. China, in particular, has made substantial advancements in its space program, posing a serious threat to U.S. interests.

To address this growing threat, President-elect Trump should build upon his previous efforts by establishing an independent Space Force Academy. This academy, modeled after West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Air Force Academy, would serve as a dedicated training ground for future Space Force leaders.

The Space Force Academy should be free from the "woke" ideology that has permeated other military academies. This is crucial to ensure that future Space Force leaders are instilled with the values of merit, tradition, duty, honor, and country.

Second, China has made it clear that it intends to become the preeminent military power in space. They have developed an array of weapons capable of targeting U.S. space assets, and they are actively pursuing the establishment of military bases on the moon.

Third, the moon holds vast reserves of helium-3, a resource that could provide a potentially limitless supply of clean energy. China believes that helium-3 could be a game-changer, not only reshaping their future but also determining control of the near solar system.

In conclusion, the establishment of a Space Force Academy is a critical step towards ensuring U.S. dominance in space. This academy will provide the necessary training and leadership to counter the growing threat from China and secure America's future in the final frontier.
