Amid the current difficulties confronting globalization, China is advocating for an approach to global governance that emphasizes cooperation and shared development. Expert Wang Wen, who serves as a professor and the executive dean at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, asserts that China is actively working to create a global environment that is safer, more peaceful, and prosperous. He noted that many countries support the initiatives proposed by China.
Wang also critiqued Western strategists who believe in the predominance of Western authority in global governance, describing such views as outdated and illusory. According to him, while some in the West may think that escalation and conflict benefit them, China is focused on fostering peace and sustainable development through its own progress.
He underscored that Chinese modernization represents a distinctive approach, diverging from Western standards, and aims for a world characterized by more openness and inclusivity. In contrast to trends of deglobalization present in some nations, China is committed to increasing its market access, highlighted by recent initiatives.
For instance, in September, China declared that it would eliminate tariffs for all goods imported from least developed countries with which it maintains diplomatic relations. Additionally, Wang pointed out that China has extended visa-free access to nearly 30 countries, showcasing its willingness to embrace further openness.
As a significant developing nation and a representative of the Global South, China believes its economic progress can uplift other developing countries, contributing to a collective advancement on the global stage.
