Ukraine has claimed a significant victory, successfully striking one of Russia's most advanced warplanes, the Su-57. The aircraft, stationed at an airbase nearly 600km from the frontline, is a twin-engine stealth fighter valued at £28 million. If confirmed, this would be the first known successful strike on an Su-57 by Ukraine.
According to Ukraine's Southern Operational Command, Russia only has six Su-57s in operation. The strike, believed to have been carried out using drones, comes after Ukraine's Western allies authorized Kyiv to use their weapons for limited strikes inside Russia.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has expressed his belief that Vladimir Putin will not stop with the war in Ukraine, pledging continued support for Europe against Russia. Biden stated that the entire continent is threatened by the Russian president. He met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, and the two leaders reaffirmed their solidarity in the face of the ongoing conflicts in Europe and the Middle East.
On the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the Russian army had failed in its Kharkiv offensive, which began nearly a month ago.
