"Pancreatic Cancer Detection with Artificial Intelligence"

A new deep learning approach developed by Alibaba Group's Damo Academy has made it possible to accurately detect and classify pancreatic lesions using non-contrast computed tomography. The approach, demonstrated in a paper published in the medical journal Nature Medicine, was effective in detecting 31 cases of pathological changes among over 20,000 asymptomatic individuals, resulting in the successful curing of two early-stage pancreatic cancer patients. This technology shows promise as a new tool for large-scale pancreatic cancer screening, potentially addressing the low survival rates associated with this cancer globally.
