"It's Just Not That Fun Anymore"
In a recent interview on the talk show "Sherri," actress Teri Hatcher, known for her role in "Desperate Housewives," opened up about her dating life at 59. She revealed that she doesn't date much anymore, finding it less appealing than it used to be.
"I used to date, and you'd look across the table at the guy, and you'd think, 'OK, I wonder if we're going to end up in bed together.' And now I look across the table, and I just think, 'When am I going to have to change this guy's diaper?'" she said. "It's just not that fun anymore."
Hatcher, who was previously married twice, also expressed her disinterest in dating younger men. "I'd just feel like I'd have to be keeping up," she said. "I'd have to, like, 'How do I look in a bikini today?' and I just don't care."
Instead of dating, Hatcher prefers to spend time with her cat. "It's better than any date well that you could possibly go on," she said.
This sentiment echoes the experiences of other older women who have spoken about their dating lives. Some, like Carolina Gonzalez, enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and explore different possibilities. Others, like Bella DePaulo, prefer to remain single and find fulfillment in their own lives.
Ultimately, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to dating later in life. Whether you choose to actively seek out a partner or embrace your single status, the most important thing is to find what works best for you.
