The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) observed a United States military aircraft traversing the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday, according to a military spokesperson.

PLA Eastern Theater Command Air Force spokesman Cao Jun stated that a US P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft transited the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday, with the passage being publicly publicized.

The theater command deployed naval and air forces to monitor the situation and maintain vigilance throughout the US aircraft's transit, effectively responding and managing the situation, the spokesperson added.

Cao criticized related remarks from the US side as distorting legal principles, confusing public opinion, and misleading international perception. He urged the US to cease its distortions and hype, and to collaborate in maintaining regional peace and stability.
