Authorities in Dadianzi Village, located in Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China, are looking into a possible visit from a wild Siberian tiger after villagers reported finding prints in the snow. A video circulated by local residents showcases a trail of footprints, which experts suspect may belong to the endangered tiger species.
As officials work to confirm the origin of the footprints, they have urged residents to remain indoors unless it is absolutely necessary to go outside. Dadianzi Village is situated within the confines of the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park, a region where tigers have been seen before, according to a resident's account.
Every year, local authorities remind the community to remain vigilant regarding their safety, especially given the presence of this endangered animal. The Siberian tiger, also referred to as the Amur tiger, is primarily found in northeastern China and Russia's Far East, making sightings a serious ecological concern.
