In New Delhi, on November 28, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma strongly condemned the stone pelting incident that occurred in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the actions of inciting riots and attacking police vehicles would not be tolerated, asserting that the individuals responsible for such behavior would face justice. Sharma expressed confidence in the current peaceful status of Sambhal and urged politicians to avoid making provocative statements.
Meanwhile, senior advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain expressed concerns about receiving threats following the violence in Sambhal. He accused prominent political figures like Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi of spreading misinformation about his role in the incident. Jain clarified that he did not participate in any slogans at the scene and was escorted by police officials during the survey of a Mughal-era mosque.
Additionally, Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh revealed that three minors were involved in the violence, which erupted during the mosque survey. Following the unrest, security forces have remained deployed in Sambhal for the third consecutive day, with police reporting the arrest of 27 individuals related to the incident and filing seven FIRs against those involved in the disturbances.
