On Tuesday, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) reported that it observed a U.S. military aircraft passing through the Taiwan Strait. Specifically, a spokesperson from the PLA Eastern Theater Command's Air Force, Cao Jun, stated that a P-8A anti-submarine patrol plane was involved in the transit, which has been interpreted and amplified by the U.S. media.

In response to the U.S. aircraft's journey, the PLA activated both naval and air resources to keep a close watch on the situation and ensure readiness. Cao Jun remarked that the U.S. had distorted legal frameworks, skewed public understanding, and affected international viewpoints regarding the movement. He called on the United States to cease its misrepresentations and to collaborate in safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
