Crackdown on Terror Networks in Jammu and Kashmir
The Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a series of raids across the Jammu region, targeting terror networks and their support systems. The operation, based on specific intelligence, aimed to identify, track, and apprehend Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and other terror suspects involved in supporting terrorist outfits.
The raids were conducted in multiple locations, including residential houses and hideouts, across Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, and Reasi districts. These searches were part of ongoing investigations into two separate cases registered at Thanamandi and Rajouri Police Stations. The cases involve a terrorist network linked to proscribed organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), attempting to activate OGWs for terror-related activities.
The operation resulted in the arrest of several OGWs and terror suspects. Incriminating materials, including electronic devices, documents, unaccounted cash, weapons, and ammunition, were also recovered. The searches were conducted meticulously, ensuring minimal disruption to innocent civilians.
Investigations will continue based on the gathered information, and further operations are planned to target any remaining elements attempting to disrupt peace in the region. The police urge citizens to report any suspicious activity or individuals to help strengthen collective efforts against terrorism.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police remain committed to conducting intelligence-based operations to dismantle terror modules and ensure the safety and security of the region.
