Animal Rights Activist Suspected in Bombings Arrested in Wales
Daniel Andreas San Diego, a 46-year-old animal rights activist, was apprehended in Wales on Monday. He was wanted in connection with bombings at two San Francisco-area buildings that housed companies with ties to animal testing.
San Diego is suspected of planting two bombs at Chiron Corporation, a biotechnology company in Emeryville, California, on August 28, 2003, and another on September 26 of the same year at Shaklee Corporation, which manufactures health, beauty, and household products in Pleasanton, California.
The FBI believes San Diego targeted these corporations because they had worked with a company that conducted experiments on animals. San Diego had been on the FBI's list of most-wanted terrorists for over two decades.
