Jacob Rees-Mogg Hints at Political Comeback in New Reality Show
Jacob Rees-Mogg, the former Conservative MP who lost his seat in the 2023 general election, has hinted at a potential return to politics. This comes as he prepares to star in a new reality show, "Meet the Rees-Moggs," which will offer a glimpse into his family life.
The show, which premieres on December 2nd on Discovery+, will follow Rees-Mogg, his wife Helena, and their six children as they navigate their lives in their 17th-century Somerset mansion. Despite his foray into reality television, Rees-Mogg has expressed his desire to return to frontline politics.
In an interview with comedian Matt Forde, Rees-Mogg stated, "I'd love to stand again. I mean, I love being a member of Parliament. I love representing the seat I represented and found it a very worthwhile thing to do."
The interview also touched upon the abuse Rees-Mogg faced during his political career, including an incident where a banner outside his mother's house was defaced. However, Rees-Mogg dismissed such incidents as "part of political life."
The couple also addressed concerns about being perceived negatively due to their wealth. Rees-Mogg stated, "I've always thought that you shouldn't pretend to be something that you're not, and I've always tried not to pretend to be something that I'm not."
"Meet the Rees-Moggs" promises to offer an intimate look into the life of a controversial figure. Whether it will help or hinder his potential political comeback remains to be seen.
