An incident at Tregoad Holiday Park, located near Looe in Cornwall, resulted in injuries to eight people due to a land train accident. Emergency responders, which included police, paramedics, coastguard personnel, and firefighters, arrived shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Authorities confirmed that while eight individuals were injured, none of the injuries are life-threatening or expected to cause long-term issues.
In response to the situation, the HM Coastguard sent a rescue helicopter from Newquay, along with teams from both Tamar and Looe Coastguard to aid at the scene. A representative from HM Coastguard stated that they were alerted to a road incident involving multiple injuries around 7 p.m. and that the response was still ongoing. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service also participated in the emergency efforts.
An air ambulance landed at the park shortly after the initial reports, around 7:09 p.m., to transport one casualty to Derriford Hospital for additional care. Currently, details on the specifics of the accident are yet to be disclosed, but emergency services are actively evaluating the situation. Because of the incident, the Looe Land Train has paused its Halloween activities bookings as officials manage the ongoing emergency.
