Trump Holds Rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Focusing on Border Crisis and Economy
Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, on Wednesday afternoon, focusing his remarks on the border crisis and the economy. He also pledged to keep men out of women's sports, "restore free speech," and protect the Second Amendment.
Trump spoke to a crowd of about 4,000 at the Rocky Mount Event Center, located in Nash County, which Biden narrowly won in 2020. He criticized the Biden-Harris administration, saying they have "virtually destroyed" America and that electing Vice President Kamala Harris as president would be "to gamble with the lives of millions and millions of people."
The former president also addressed the issue of transgender medical procedures for minors, saying he would ban them without parental consent. He received support from rally attendees on this issue, with one individual stating that "we have just gone too far down the rabbit hole" and that individuals should be at least 18 before being permitted to get such a procedure.
Other attendees expressed concerns about the border, inflation, and gas prices. They also voiced support for Trump's abortion policies and his immigration policies. One attendee noted that Trump's wife, Melania, is an immigrant who "did it the right way" when she came to the U.S.
Following the rally in North Carolina, Trump headed to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to hold a rally with former NFL quarterback Brett Favre.
