The video, filmed outside the JW3 cultural center in north London on Sunday, shows a man walking a dog being stopped by police after exchanging words and making what appears to be a swearing gesture towards the pro-Palestine protesters. In the same video, a police officer can be seen standing by as a pro-Palestine protester makes obscene gestures towards people filming the protest.
Journalist Nicole Lampert shared the video on social media, criticizing what she saw as "two-tier policing." She explained that the dog walker was a Jewish man who was "enraged at the awful chants" coming from the protesters.
"As you can see, he was pushed away by police and warned that if he didn't leave he'd face arrest," Lampert wrote.
In a second video, Lampert showed the protesters "giving a Jewish person the finger in front of a police officer who did nothing."
"The two-tier element couldn't be starker," she said.
The speaking event on Sunday was hosted by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and included two members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, a Labour MP, and the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Olmert.
Slogans chanted outside by activists included the controversial anti-Israel song "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free." One protester also shouted "Zionism is a racist ideology."
The Metropolitan Police said one person was arrested for criminal damage.
