China's Air Force to Showcase New Combat Planes at Upcoming Zhuhai Airshow
The 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, scheduled for November 12-17 in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, will be a major platform for the Chinese military and its arms contractors to showcase their latest hardware.
Lieutenant General Yu Qingjiang, a deputy commander of the People's Liberation Army Air Force, announced that the Air Force will bring an unprecedented amount of aircraft, missiles, radar, and other equipment to the event. This includes new types of combat planes developed in recent years, which will make their public debut at the airshow.
"We will bring all the hardware that you wish to see and that we can show you by that time," Yu said, highlighting the Air Force's capability to conduct long-range power projection and air combat operations.
Aviation Industry Corp of China to Display 260 Fighter Jets, Helicopters, and Drones
Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC), a state-owned aircraft conglomerate, will also have a significant presence at the airshow. Wu Jiwei, AVIC's spokesman, announced that the company will bring a total of 260 fighter jets, helicopters, drones, missiles, and other equipment to the exhibition. This is a substantial increase compared to the hardware AVIC displayed at the previous Zhuhai Airshow in 2022.
China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp to Present Advanced Missiles and Anti-Drone Systems
China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp (CASIC), the country's largest missile maker, will present over 100 vehicles and pieces of equipment at the airshow. This includes the HQ-9BE long-range air-defense missile and YJ-12E supersonic anti-ship cruise missile. CASIC will also highlight its upgraded version of an advanced anti-drone system, which incorporates missiles, air-defense guns, and laser equipment.
China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp to Showcase Space Exploration Hardware
China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp (CASC), the country's dominant space contractor, will participate in the airshow for the first time. They will showcase full-size models of the Chang'e 6 lunar probe, the Queqiao 2 relay satellite, and the Long March 12 rocket. The Chang'e 6 probe successfully brought back the first samples from the moon's far side in June 2023.
The 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition promises to be a major event, showcasing the latest advancements in China's military and space technology. The public will have a unique opportunity to observe these impressive weapons and equipment firsthand.
