A conference focused on China's environmental strategy took place recently in Beijing, organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy. This event aimed to stress the importance of implementing the guidelines from the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, particularly regarding ecological conservation and sustainability.

During the gathering, Zhao Yingmin, the vice-minister of ecology and environment, pointed out the significant milestones China has achieved in ecological efforts through systemic reforms essential for the nation's growth. His remarks underscored the necessity of these reforms, which continue to evolve and adapt as China progresses.

Additionally, Xie Zhenhua, the former special envoy for climate change, spoke about China's responsibilities in the context of global climate governance. He highlighted the importance of China's proactive involvement in international climate change initiatives, especially with the nation poised to update its Nationally Determined Contributions for 2035.

The conference included in-depth discussions on multiple aspects of ecological conservation, such as the main functional zones system, the environmental code, green transportation, and green finance. The event attracted over 150 participants from various sectors, including government agencies and research institutions, featuring four specialized sessions that delved into these critical topics.
