Panda Cubs at Zoo Berlin to Make Public Debut
The twin panda cubs born to 11-year-old giant panda Meng Meng at Zoo Berlin are now over a month old and thriving. They are set to make their public debut on October 16th, allowing visitors to witness their adorable antics.
Since their birth on August 22nd, the cubs have been cared for in the Panda Garden's rear area, away from public view. However, from October 16th onwards, visitors can catch a glimpse of the cubs daily between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. This schedule ensures minimal disruption to the cubs' routine.
The past month has seen the cubs flourish. They have transitioned from incubators to their own "panda bed" and gained weight steadily. Their development has been remarkable, with their black and white coloring becoming more prominent, resembling their parents.
Meng Meng and Jiao Qing, the father of the cubs, arrived in Germany from China in 2017. In August 2019, Meng Meng gave birth to twins, Meng Xiang and Meng Yuan. These twins were returned to China in December 2023.
The public debut of the new panda cubs is a highly anticipated event, offering visitors a chance to witness the wonders of these adorable creatures.
