In an exclusive interview with Star Sports, Maxwell reflected on his career battles with Ashwin and Jadeja, emphasizing the challenges they pose. He indicated that their performances have typically been pivotal to the outcomes of matches and that success against them often correlates with better overall results for Australia.
The upcoming Border-Gavaskar series, commencing on November 22, highlights India's recent dominance over Australia, having won four consecutive series, including two victories on Australian soil. Historically, the competition favors India, with India winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ten times compared to Australia's five, and the last Australian series win being in 2014-15.
Furthermore, Maxwell also commended Jasprit Bumrah, whom he described as the best bowler across all formats. Drawing from personal experience, he recalled having faced Bumrah during his inaugural IPL season in 2013 and praised the fast bowler's incredible development from a budding talent to one of the world's leading bowlers. In his 37 Test matches, Bumrah has taken 163 wickets, reflecting his prowess with a best performance of 6/27 and ten five-wicket hauls.
