Cameron Green Ruled Out of England Tour, Doubtful for India Series
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of the ongoing tour of England due to a back injury. This news comes as a blow to the Australian team, who have already been dealing with multiple injury setbacks during the tour. Green's injury could also put his participation in the upcoming home Test series against India in doubt.
Green initially complained of back pain after the third ODI against England. Scans later revealed the extent of the injury, leading to his exclusion from the fourth ODI. Cricket.com.au reports that the full extent of Green's injury will only be known after he returns home for further assessment.
Green is a crucial member of the Australian Test team, and his absence would be a significant loss. With the major ICC World Test Championship series against India approaching later this year, there are concerns about the timeline of his recovery.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the prestigious Test series between India and Australia, is scheduled to begin on November 22nd. The series will feature five Test matches, starting with the first Test at Perth on November 22nd. The second Test will be a day-night encounter at Adelaide Oval from December 6th to 10th. The third Test will be held at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14th to 18th. The fourth Test, the traditional Boxing Day Test, will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26th to 30th. The series will conclude with the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3rd to 7th.
