On September 25, 2024, China National Nuclear Power (CNNP) launched its first technical service brand named "I-Nuclear" in Shanghai. This initiative aims to offer comprehensive technical support for the safety and efficiency of nuclear power plant operations. The brand builds on eight technical service products unveiled in 2017 and signifies CNNP's ongoing dedication to enhance its capabilities in nuclear power technology services, meeting the diverse needs anticipated in the future nuclear market.
Production preparation (i-Prepare), nuclear commissioning (i-Commission), operational support (i-Support), major overhauls (i-Outage), specialized maintenance (i-Maintain), professional training (i-Train), technical support (i-Tech), and nuclear informatization (i-Informatization). These services represent the extensive experience acquired from CNNP's operational history of 260 reactor years and underscore the advancements in China's nuclear safety culture.
During the launch ceremony, Lu Tiezhong, CNNP's chairman, expressed hope that the “I-Nuclear” platform would promote the exchange of nuclear power experiences and elevate safety and operational standards within the industry. He reaffirmed CNNP's role as a leader in China's nuclear sector, emphasizing a commitment to safe and innovative developments in nuclear energy. The event also coincided with CNNP's cultural festival, where plans for a new cultural creativity and brand studio were revealed.
Fang Xin, a former deputy secretary at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, acknowledged the launch as a significant milestone for CNNP and highlighted the continual pioneering efforts of the Chinese nuclear industry in technological innovation. She expressed confidence that dedication within the nuclear power sector would lead to an outstanding future for China’s nuclear energy.
